Belmont Lodge

Belmont Lodge – a fine two storey Georgian stone house – was built in 1832 by a Hobart wine dealer, Benjamin Guy.

A book of the finest private colonial estates in Tasmania, by Alice Bennett and Georgia Warner, was published in 2009. Belmont Lodge is one of the 26 properties featured.

At the 2012 Tasmanian Wine Show, Pooley Wines won the Pinot Noir Exhibitor of the Year Trophy. Our 2009 Butchers Hill Pinot Noir (not yet released) also wond The People’s Choice Trophy.

The Rutherglen Wine Show has been running for more than 120 years and is the second largest wine show in Australia. Our 2010 Pooley Coal River Pinot Noir won Gold and a Trophy at the Rutherglen Wine Show held in September in Victoria. The trophy was for Best Australian Dry Red Wine (Pinot Noir), beating dozens of other Australian and Tasmanian pinot noirs.

At this year’s Rutherglen Wine Show, Pooley 2010 Coal River Pinot Noir was awarded Top Gold and the Les & Diana Harmer Pepetual Trophy for Best Australian Dry Red Wine Pinot Noir 2010 and older.
